Sina Analoui (he/him/his)
Research Fellow
Sina graduated from BU with his BS and MS in Biomedical Engineering. He shifted his research focus to neuroscience during his Master's program and has been hooked ever since.
Sina currently splits his research between studies in two model species, namely songbirds and mice. He has a particular interest in the phenomenon of adult neurogenesis found in the former species and studies the effects of psychedelics on decision-making in the latter. He can also be found managing the songbird colony and mentoring students in the lab, two processes that he finds (almost) as challenging and rewarding as the research he performs.
When not in lab, Sina can be found cooking an array of cuisines, playing his keyboard, and watching movies from his extensive backlog. He is always seeking new and exciting experiences and finds that life is more fun with a bit of uncertainty mixed in. He also infinitely loves his cat Lucky and will gladly share pictures and stories of his rapscallious behaviors at request.
